Today the appeleon version 2.5.00 GA has been released and is now available for new installations and updates.
 

The following new additions expand the appeleon functionality:

• Innovations on Application level

• New interfaces and options for data synchronization
  
  Data from appeleon applications can now be synchronized into and from SQL databases. In addition, employee data can be retrieved from an external directory through LDAP.
  Synchronization filters can be defined, to synchronize only a portion of the data.
  Now composite keys can be used when there is no single unique key.

• AutomaticBackups
  
  The Backup-Function for applications has been extended, so that backups can be created automatically at defined times.
   
• DynamicExtensions
  
  Java Extensions with specific business logic can now be deployed dynamically without restarting the server and can now be transported with the configuration. This also simplifies the use of different versions on the same instance.
   
• ExternalPermission groups

Permission groups can be ordered now from an external directory (E.g. Active Directory). These are linked to the appeleon user groups and allow as a central authorization assignment.

• New features on Object level:

• Read-Only-Mode for Gantt-Chart

Gantt-Charts can be used in the application now in Read-Only mode.

• Provide more export formats for BirtReport generation

With the new version, it is now possible to create Excel and Word documents in addition to pdf documents from the appeleon application.

• Notifications
  
  Notificationsare now defined in terms of pop-ups or E-mails in objects. Can be used e.g. to change the information when the status changes.
  Mails can be either collected or sent separately and the mail delivery is possible asynchronously now.
   
• Table row multiply and merge
  
  With the help of Table-Join, the merged representation of data in tables is possible now.
  Similarily, rows based on input values can be multiplied by the Table-Split.
   
• Periodic Object Update
  
  To enable time-dependent change of status, objects can be updated now if required periodically. Therefore, e.g., if there is a status change due to delay, then an E-mail can be sent on the same.
  
   

• Innovations in the Field-level

• Selection fieldwith external data included in the appeleon application
  
  With a button in the dialog box field, an external data query can now be started and displayed on search criteria. Thus, for example, customer data can now be loaded into appeleon applications from the central system.
   
• NewChart Representations
  
  The Chart-Display is available now in an optimized form. In addition to bar and pie charts, there are also line, point and area charts.
   
• Combo-boxes in Cross tables
  
  Cross tables can now be used with combo-boxes and extended to combo-boxes with multiple selection to facilitate data-management.

• Innovations on configuration level

• Simplified configuration

The new version allows the configurator to duplicate the applied features, which speeds up and simplifies the configuration of several similar features.

• Innovations on instance level

• Mobile optimization

Additionally to the recognition of your mobile device (tablet or smart phone), you can now activate the smart phone, which is specifically designed for the application usage via smart phone, when logging in to an application. The adjusted layout simplifies using appeleon applications on your smart phone.
